Education Recognizes
Faculty and Student Achievers

   One of the highlights of the 90th Foundation Anniversary celebrations of the College of Education was the first Bilib sa Eduk Awards (BEA), held on April 29, 2016 at the AMV-College of Accountancy Multipurpose Halls. The recognition day is a reflection of the college’s commitment in promoting a culture of excellence by acknowledging the outstanding achievements and contributions of faculty, students, support staff, alumni, partner institutions and agencies in strengthening the dialogue between and among instruction, research and service engagement. BEA Committee Chairperson, Asst. Prof. Juanita Alonsabe, presided over the screening process.

   Dr. Clarita Carillo, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs delivered an   inspirational message. She congratulated the awardees and urged   them to nurture their passions and continue to strive for success. The first set of awards went to outstanding students who made it to the Dean’s List. Senior students from each program who displayed exceptional applied skills in their respective disciplines were also recognized. First place winners in regional, national and international competitions; student delegates in international conferences and congresses; student leaders and organizations who have organized and implemented meaningful co-curricular, extracurricular and community development activities were acknowledged. The certificates and tokens were presented by Education Regent Fr. Jesus Miranda, Jr., O.P. and Education Student Welfare and Development Board Coordinator Asst. Prof. Kashmer Cruz. Mr. Jerric Cristobal, a senior Secondary Education - Social Studies major prepared an appreciation speech on behalf of the student awardees.

   The next set of awards were given to selected members of the support staff for their dedication and responsibility. They were followed by faculty awardees who served as consultants, resource persons or speakers/presenters in regional, national and international conferences; recipients of national and international recognitions from professional organizations, and authors of textbooks and ISI-published papers. Faculty members with 10 years of service and 5-year increments thereafter were honored during the event. Education Dean Allan de Guzman and Dr. Carillo handed the trophies and certificates. Assoc. Prof. Evelyn Ladines, the Chairperson of the Food Technology Department, gave the response on behalf of the faculty awardees.
